Medical First Aid Training Class Questions

Q: Who is NorCal Emergency Medical Training, where are you located, and what classes do you teach?

A: We are NOT a fly by night traveling company teaching ‘American Heart Association Content’, we are a Sacramento based American Heart Association Training Center with two locations to serve you (Rancho Cordova and Roseville) addresses and directions can be found on the ‘Contact Us’ page of our website. We teach ‘American Heart Association’ curriculum that is accepted everywhere and offer many class dates and times to provide more options for your busy schedule.

Q: Do I have to purchase a course textbook?

A: Yes, as outlined in the American Heart Associations Program Administration Manual:

*All students must have the current appropriate AHA courst textbook for their individual use, before, during, and after the course. Students should review the textbook before class and have immediate access to their own copy afterward as a reference and review tool.

The only exception to this policy is the student who is a healthcare professional who will have access to the textbook for individual study reference before, during, and after the course at his or her facility(ies). A library/archive for healthcare professionals is acceptable but does not meet the requirement for lay programs.

Q: Can I take these courses On-Line?

A: Yes, the American Heart Association offers a variety of ‘e-Learning’ courses for professionals with work-place requirements that seek an alternative to traditional classroom training, or individuals that would benefit from Blended Learning. These courses use -Simulation technology and are completed in 3 Simple steps around your busy schedule that require you to complete Part 1 (cognitive portion) and schedule an evaluation for Parts 2 and 3 (Skills Practice and Evaluation). Each student who successfully completes an AHA ECC course will be issued the appropriate course card that bears the AHA logo.

Q: Do you Cancel Classes?

A: No, we understand your time is valuable and DO NOT cancel classes for any reason, even if you are the only student attending.

Q: When will I receive my Certification Card?

A: You will receive your Certification Card upon successful completion of the course curriculum at the end of class, no wait time!

Q: What happens if I register for a class and can not attend?

A: There are no transfer fees. If you are unable to attend or need to change class dates, as a courtesy please let us know so we can make that spot available.

Q: Do you offer Continuing Education Credits?

A: Yes, we offer CE’s through the California Board of Registered Nursing, Dental Board and California State Emergency Medical Services Authority.
