Want to earn your American Heart Association certification but do not have the time to spend hours in a classroom? NorCal Emergency Medical Training offers official AHA Blended Learning courses that combine online instruction with a short in-person skills session. This allows you to learn the required material at your own pace from home while still getting hands-on practice with our certified instructors.
With Blended Learning, you complete the classroom portion online. You will receive the same training materials as an in-person class, watch instructional videos, and complete quizzes and tests for evaluation. Then, you attend an in-person skills session at one of our locations to practice techniques, receive instructor feedback, and complete your certification.

This class is online and requires attendance at a skills session for completion.

Skills Session Information
Skills sessions are significantly shorter than traditional classroom courses. BLS skills sessions take about 1 hour, while ACLS and PALS are approximately 5 hours. Session length may vary by class.

Skills sessions are offered at our Rancho Cordova and Roseville locations. Session length varies by class — check details when registering.
Frequently Asked Questions About Blended Training
Q: How do I get my CEU’s?
A: CEU’s will be issued by the AHA via the eLearning website and by NorCal Emergency Medical Training for the in-person skills portion.
Q: When will I receive my card?
A: You will receive your AHA eCard via email from ecards@heart.org within 24–48 hours of completing your skills session.
Q: Is this the same class and card I would get if I came to the traditional in-person class?
A: Yes, it is the same course, the same certification, and the same content. The American Heart Association has introduced this option for all courses to provide flexibility for busy professionals who may not be able to dedicate one or two full days to in-person training.
Q: Why is the Blended eLearning option more expensive?
A: The blended eLearning option is priced slightly higher because it includes the keycode required for the online portion, the provider manual eBook, a one-on-one skills check-off with an instructor, and the issuance of your certification card.
